Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Otter Lab LLC ("The Otter Lab", "we", "us"), a company based in North Carolina, collects and uses information when you visit theotterlab.com (the "Site").
This policy covers this Site only. Our games and apps are separate products with their own websites and their own privacy policies, which explain what each product collects.
Summary
- We collect personal information only when you submit it through a form on the Site.
- The Site does not use cookies, advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time.
Information you give us
Work with us form. When you contact us, we collect your name, your email address, and your message, along with anything you choose to include in it. We use this to reply to you and to discuss any project you have asked about.
Waitlist. When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. We use it to send you news about our games, apps, and launches. Every email we send will tell you how to stop receiving them.
Information collected automatically
Hosting. The Site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request, to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used overall, for example which pages are visited and how visitors found us. It does not use cookies, and it reports aggregated statistics such as page views, referring websites, and general device, browser, and country information. We do not use it to identify you or to follow you across other websites.
Browser storage. To prevent accidental duplicate submissions, our forms save the time of your last submission in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
We do not use cookies. Our fonts and images are served from our own Site, not from third-party services.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that run the Site for us: Formspree, which receives form submissions and delivers them to our email; Cloudflare, which hosts the Site and provides analytics; and our email provider. They may use the information only to provide these services.
- When required by law, or when needed to protect our rights, our users, or the security of the Site.
- As part of a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of our company, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep information
- Messages: for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of our conversation, or of any work we do together.
- Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Hosting and analytics data: according to Cloudflare's retention practices.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to remove you from our waitlist, by emailing contact@theotterlab.com. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, and we will honor requests made under those laws.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Security
The Site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we limit who can access the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
The Site links to other websites, including our social media pages and our product websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. If a change significantly affects how we use information you have already given us, we will let you know before it takes effect.
